Data Centre & Equipment Room Patch Cords

LC duplex OS2, OM3 and OM4 assemblies — tested, labelled and cut to the lengths your racks actually need.

Rows of fiber patch cords connected to a batch test bench with green connectors

Inside a data hall the enemy is not weather, it is handling. Cords are installed by people working quickly in confined spaces, then dressed, re-dressed and moved as the rack changes. A cord that is 30 cm too long becomes a coil in front of an airflow path; one that is too short puts a bend radius under stress. Both problems are solved at the specification stage, which is why we care more about your rack plan than about selling you the nearest stocked length.

What this environment demands

The problems that actually bite here

Density and cable dressing

Hundreds of cords in one rack leave little margin for error. The right length is a specification, not an afterthought — wrong lengths create coils that block airflow and make every future change harder.

Tray edges and cabinet doors

Cords are dragged across tray edges, pinched by ties and closed into cabinet doors. Repeated crush loads are a slow failure that often only shows up as a link error months later.

Polarity and duplex orientation

A duplex assembly has an A side and a B side, plus a clip orientation. Getting it wrong at the panel costs a call-out and a re-dress, so the assembly should arrive built the way your port plan expects.

Labelling that matches the rack

Incoming inspection and moves-adds-changes both depend on the label matching the port plan — not on someone opening every bag to work out what is inside.

Recommended configuration

The configuration we recommend for this environment

Recommended configuration: Data Centre & Equipment Room Patch Cords
SpecificationRecommendation
ConnectorLC duplex (most common); SC simplex or duplex
PolishUPC for equipment ports; APC where the run belongs to a PON
Fiber modeOM3/OM4 multimode for short in-hall links; OS2 single mode beyond ~300 m
StructureDuplex with clip; armored where routing is exposed
JacketLSZH, 2.0 mm or 3.0 mm
Insertion loss≤0.3 dB per cord
Return loss≥50 dB (UPC) / ≥60 dB (APC)
Testing100% IL/RL measured; test report shipped with the order
Length0.5 m to 30 m typical, custom on request

Send the rack or port plan and we will quote the assembly that fits it — no drawing is required for a patch cord, only the technical parameters.

Why buy from us

Five things that do not change between projects

Factory-direct supply

You order from the plant, not a trading desk. Our Jiangsu base produces roughly 20 million patch cords a year.

100% IL/RL tested

Every cord is measured for insertion and return loss before packing, with a test report per order.

7-day prototyping

New or custom builds are sampled in about seven days so your schedule is not held hostage.

Custom lengths

Made to order with a tolerance agreed in writing — not the nearest stocked length.

OEM packaging

Your label, your part number and your artwork, so the goods arrive ready for your warehouse.

FAQ

Four questions buyers ask us most

Single mode or multimode for a data hall?
As a rule of thumb: short high-speed links inside a hall are usually OM3 or OM4 multimode, while anything running beyond roughly 300 m — or leaving the building — is single mode OS2. If you tell us the distance and the equipment, we will confirm the mode rather than leave it to chance.
Can you supply duplex assemblies with the polarity and clip we need?
Yes. Duplex assemblies are built to the A/B orientation you specify, with or without the clip, and we can mark the ends so the orientation is obvious at the panel.
Do you label and pack to our part numbers?
Yes — OEM branding, your part number and your artwork. Cords are bagged individually with a specification label, so incoming inspection does not have to open every bag.
What is the lead time?
Pre-production samples are typically 3–7 working days and mass production 7–15 working days, depending on quantity and configuration. Dates are confirmed in the quotation.

Attachments (optional)

Upload a drawing, photo, datasheet or ZIP if you have one. Connector enquiries benefit most; fibre enquiries only need a specification.

Your drawing, photo or sample stays confidential. We sign an NDA on request.
